PITTMAN COUNTY, Tenn. — A deadly explosion has rocked a manufacturing plant in rural Tennessee owned by Accurate Energetic Systems. The plant manufactures, stores, and researches explosives for military, aerospace, and commercial industries. The explosion on Friday shook houses miles away, leaving multiple people dead and missing. Rescuers were being forced to wait out secondary blasts. The facility is located near Bucksnort, about 60 miles southwest of Nashville. The plant covers 1,300 acres where munitions are made and tested. The company has numerous military contracts and sells explosive products for various purposes. Pentagon officials said they are aware of the reports and are looking into the situation.
