LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - The Detroit Tigers season ended in heartbreak early Saturday morning, when Jorge Polanco delivered a walk-off single for the Seattle Mariners in the 15th inning of game five of the ALDS.

Detroit's Tarik Skubal was brilliant to start the game, allowing just one run in six innings and striking out 13.

Kerry Carpenter hit a two-run homer in the top of the sixth to put Detroit in front 2-1, but the Mariners tied it up in the seventh on an RBI single by Leo Rivas.

From there, the teams played seven and a half innings of scoreless, high-drama baseball. Each team had plenty of opportunities to break through, but pitcher after pitcher worked their way out of jams.
