Community members are helping a 93-year-old Southern California man search for his missing dog, whom he calls his beloved companion.

This past weekend, Norman Feigenbaum had taken a quick trip to the supermarket, but when he returned, he discovered his 7-year-old yellow Labrador, Sunny, had somehow escaped from his West Hills home by running through a fence in the backyard.

Feigenbaum had adopted Sunny about four years ago from an East L.A. shelter. Her previous owner had apparently died, and Feigenbaum had nursed the skittish dog back to health.
