The postmortem of senior Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar will be conducted on Saturday, four days after he was found dead with a gunshot wound at his Chandigarh residence. The development comes after state Home Secretary Dr Sumita Mishra held a meeting with Kumar’s wife and IAS officer Amneet P Kumar that lasted an hour on Friday night.

The IPS officer’s body had been kept at the Government Hospital in Sector-16 after Amneet raised allegations of “dilution” of the First Information Report (FIR) lodged in the wake of the death, and demanded that the names of IPS and IAS officers named in Kumar’s “final note” be included as “accused”.
