T he Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has officially declared Puri Srimandir a Red Zone to strengthen security around the sacred site.
The order will remain valid until September 25, 2028.
This move follows repeated violations of the existing no-fly zone, where drones were spotted hovering above the temple despite restrictions. Authorities aim to prevent unauthorized aerial activity and safeguard devotees and temple property.
The Red Zone classification prohibits any drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from flying over the temple premises. Operators must obtain a valid Unique Identification Number (UIN) from DGCA to fly drones in surrounding areas. Violators will face legal action.
