EAST LANSING — The Michigan State hockey team bounced back from a season-opening upset loss on Thursday, Oct. 9, allowing just 13 shots on goal in a 2-0 win over New Hampshire on Friday night at Munn Ice Arena.
Defensemen got both MSU goals as senior Matt Basgall scored in the second period and junior Patrick Geary added to the lead in the third.
“It was a good response by our group,” Michigan State coach Adam Nightingale said in a press release. “I thought when you look at yesterday's game — I still think there was a lot of good that we did, but not enough of it. Our execution wasn’t great with breaking the puck out. I thought we were a little bit one-and-done.
