Delhi, Oct 11: The Delhi government on Friday banned the sale, purchase, and distribution of Coldrif cough syrup after it was declared “not of standard quality,” according to an official order.
The order stated that Coldrif Syrup (Paracetamol, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, Chlorpheniramine Maleate), manufactured in May 2025 by Sresan Pharmaceutical Manufacturer, Tamil Nadu, was found adulterated with Diethylene Glycol (46.28% w/v), a toxic chemical harmful to human health.
All stakeholders have been directed to immediately stop handling the affected batch, and the public has been warned not to use the product due to potential health risks. Authorities urged strict compliance and wide dissemination of the advisory in the interest of public safety.
