Imagine spending weeks and months preparing for a competition at the professional level. Imagine putting in the hard yards - physically and mentally. And all that effort counting for nought in the end because a bureaucratic snatched you of your dream. That was the case for 11 Indian athletes (and two officials) who were due to compete in the World Chessboxing Championship in Serbia. So, instead of packing their bags and boarding the flight to represent India at the global event, the youngsters occupied the steps of the Embassy in hope of getting their visas approved.
