Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Self-Reliant Agriculture Mission to empower farmers and promote crop diversification.
The government selected Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Sundargarh, and Nuapada districts to implement the schemes. These initiatives aim to shift farmers away from paddy dependency and encourage cultivation of pulses, oilseeds, and other profitable crops. Over the next six years, the program will invest ₹24,000 crore annually and benefit 1.7 crore farmers across India.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a ₹100 crore Integrated Aqua Park in Sambalpur’s Basantpur. He also initiated the construction of a ₹60 crore wholesale fish market in Bhubaneswar’s Pandara under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana
