Diwali Gift for Women: Free LPG cylinders announced; Details Inside

Lucknow (UP), October 11, 2025: Bringing festive cheer to millions of households, the Yogi Adityanath–led Uttar Pradesh government has announced a free LPG cylinder for women beneficiaries registered under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) this Diwali.

The benefit will be provided under the “UP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme”, which offers one filled LPG cylinder each during Holi and Diwali every year. The initiative aims to ease the financial burden on women from economically weaker sections and promote the use of clean cooking fuel.

Under the scheme, beneficiaries initially pay the full price for the LPG cylinder at their agency. Later, the entire amount is reimbursed directly to their bank accounts
