Fernando Mendoza might be the new kid on the block for Indiana football , but the veteran quarterback has had what appears to be a seamless transition to the Big Ten.

The former Cal quarterback has picked up where his predecessor, Kurtis Rourke, left off last December. He has led the No. 7-ranked Hoosiers to a 5-0 start and looks to have the team in contention for the Big Ten championship — and one of the 12 spots in the College Football Playoff .
