A Scots Reform UK councillor has been reported to police after she made a comment saying she was "born and bred here" during an interview. ‌

Falkirk councillor Claire Mackie-Brown, who joined the party in March, was being interviewed regarding the anti-migrant protests that have been taking place outside the Cladhan Hotel. ‌

During the interview with STV she said: “There is a true unrest – and it’s scary as a local resident, somebody who was born and bred here.” ‌

Immediately after making the comment she looked away from the reporter and said: “I shouldn’t have said that.”

She then said: “That just came out, it just came out. I’m saying that as a local resident because I was born in Slamannan. It wasn’t as a councillor but I do understand, yeah.”
