NEW ORLEANS — Voters in the New Orleans area are heading to the polls on Saturday to cast ballots in a number of high-stakes elections that could shape local government for years to come. More than 40,000 voters cast their ballots early, signaling a potential record turnout.
Polls opened at 7 a.m. Saturday and will close at 8 p.m. Voters must bring a valid photo ID with a signature—such as a Louisiana driver’s license, state ID, or passport.
