ST. LOUIS, Mo. ( First Alert 4 /Gray News) - Police in Missouri say they are looking for suspects in a shooting that left one person dead and four others injured.

The shooting happened at a vigil in St. Louis.

Loved ones were gathering for a balloon release to mourn a recent death when, police say, a group showed up and started firing.

“There’s some sense in which you do become numb, but you’re never OK with what you see,” said Mission St. Louis’ Jason Watson.

Watson, who’s group runs Show Me Peace, said a shooting at a balloon release is especially difficult.

“That makes it even worse. That’s compound trauma,” Watson added.

Police say at around 7 p.m. Wednesday, supporters gathered for a balloon release to mourn a recent death when a group showed up and started firing.
