President Donald Trump shared a video on social media late Friday night depicting himself bragging about his border security policy, and set to an iconic Dr. Dre song featuring Snoop Dogg.

“The media and our friends in the Democrat Party kept saying we needed new legislation – ‘we must have legislation to secure the border’ – but it turned out that all we really needed was a new president!” Trump is heard saying in the video, captured during his first address to Congress after taking office for his second term back in March.

Following Trump’s remarks, the video then shows Republican lawmakers erupting into applause, and set to an instrumental version of the Dr. Dre track “The Next Episode” as the camera pans to Democratic lawmakers sitting in silence.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr. and is featured prominently on the song, had frequently feuded with Trump in the past, releasing a music video in 2017 depicting a mock shooting of Trump dressed as a clown. He’s also called Trump a “f------ weirdo” and “racist” during his first presidency.

In recent years, however, Broadus Jr. has warmed up to Trump following the president’s 2021 pardoning of Michael Harris, the co-founder of Broadus Jr.’s label Death Row Records who was incarcerated for an alleged attempted murder. Broadus Jr. commented that Trump “has done only great things for me” in 2024.

In 2025, Broadus Jr. performed at a crypto-themed event tied to Trump’s second inauguration, a performance that sparked backlash among fans and critics that accused him of “selling out.”
