When it comes to government operations, I don’t like to see this phrase: “Behind closed doors.”

Yet, after all the uproar and ugliness between lawmakers over approval of the 2025-26 state budget, that’s where Gov. Gretchen Whitmer went to finally sign it: Behind closed doors.
