STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual sought for questioning in connection to a robbery in Rosebank on Thursday, Aug. 28.
According to police, the alleged robbery took place on the sidewalk in the vicinity of Bay Street and Virginia Avenue around 9:21 p.m. At that time, a 20-year-old man was approached from behind, punched and choked by an unknown individual, as alleged in a statement from the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information’s Office.
The unidentified individual then allegedly forcibly removed the victim’s backpack and about $300 before fleeing on foot eastbound on Virginia Avenue.
