The world No. 1 has now won 19 straight matches at the tournament, a streak that began in 2019 and includes three consecutive titles.
Next up for Sabalenka is Jessica Pegula, as she looks to strengthen her hold on the top spot in the WTA rankings following Iga Swiatek’s surprise loss to Jasmine Paolini.
Sabalenka’s path to No. 1 has also put her among a select few, as she becomes just the eighth player to reach this particular milestone.
