CHICAGO – The Canadiens held their first morning skate of the season on Saturday at United Center.

What happened, you ask? Not a whole lot –– but that was the point.

With the game scheduled for 6:00 p.m. local time, Martin St-Louis kept things short and simple, giving his players just enough time to get their feet wet following Friday’s day off.

Joe Veleno and Jayden Struble skated as extras.

Saturday is the Blackhawks home opener, so expect puck drop in Chicago to be closer to 7:15 p.m. ET.
