MISSOULA — The No. 4 Montana Grizzlies had, through five weeks of football, showed one half of subpar offensive production.
The two quarters came on Sept. 13 against North Dakota, a first-half showing where the Griz tallied just seven points and fell behind by nine entering halftime. Montana's offense found juice in the second half, though, saving its perfect record and securing a 24-23 win.
Saturday's matchup against the Cal Poly Mustangs saw similar early struggles for the Griz. Montana was held scoreless through the first half, and a Kenzel Lawler pick-6 was the only scoring play of the third quarter for UM. The Mustangs led 9-7 entering the final period.
