NEW ORLEANS —
Two candidates vying to become the next councilperson for District A are heading to a runoff.
Aimee McCarron and Holly Friedman will face off on the November ballot after neither was able to secure more than 50 percent of the vote during the Oct. 11 race.

McCarron is a New Orleans native who served as the Policy and Budget Director for Councilmember Joe Giarrusso.
As Policy and Budget Director, McCarron was responsible for helping manage the city’s budget.
If elected, she hopes to rebuild law enforcement opportunities, rebuild the city, and more.
Friedman currently works for the Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams.
Friedman is also the former Constituent Services Director and Campaign Manager for Councilmember Joe Giarrusso.
