A four-member team from the Balasore district administration in Odisha has reached Durgapur to meet the medical student who was allegedly gang-raped near a private medical college in West Bengal’s Paschim Bardhaman district.

The team, led by District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Jyotsna Mohanty and a Deputy Superintendent of Police, visited the hospital on Saturday and interacted with the survivor and her family members.

Odisha Officials Meet Survivor in Hospital

Speaking to the media, DSWO Jyotsna Mohanty said that the survivor’s condition is gradually improving. She confirmed that the district administration is providing all necessary assistance.
