The Vancouver Canucks are only two games into the 2025-26 season but it appears goalie Thatcher Demko is back to his old self.
He was almost the entire story for the Canucks on Saturday night in a 3-1 loss to the high-powered, high-flying Edmonton Oilers.
Without Demko, as everyone watching saw, it probably would have been a far more lopsided score. And that’s not even saying backup Kevin Lankinen is a slouch in goal — far from it. He might even have performed like Demko did — on his head — so the point here really is the Canucks had a tough night in their end.
