Scores of Gilbert residents are hitting the town with complaints about huge spikes in their water bills.
They also have taken to social media, posting photos of their bills, with some showing an increase amounting to hundreds of dollars – and, in a few cases, even more.
“Our Town of Gilbert water bill that is typically under $200, has been $700+ the last two months,” wrote one user on Facebook.
Another called for a “water march” while still another posted, “Like my husband said, don't pay your bill until they fix all of them. What are they going to do, shut us ALL off?”
And one wrote, “It’s been pretty consistent all along during the summer. I keep waiting for a giant spike but it hasn’t happened yet. I live in fear.”
