Rotterdam: After a week of escalating disruption at Europe’s largest port, lashers at the Port of Rotterdam have agreed to suspend their strike starting Monday, providing temporary relief to shipping operations while wage negotiations are set to resume. The announcement follows a court-mediated agreement between union representatives and port employers, aimed at preventing further economic disruption and backlogs of container traffic.

The strike, which began last Wednesday, involved roughly 700 lashers responsible for securing cargo on container ships.
