When employees at Fayetteville Animal Protection Society in North Carolina arrived at work one Sunday morning, they were met with a sight they hadn’t anticipated.

After recent storms had swept through the area, a small litter of puppies sat quietly outside the shelter’s entrance, waiting for someone to bring them into safety.
