The Indian tech industry is experiencing a wave of workforce changes in 2025 that is reshaping employment in the sector. Over 50,000 tech jobs are projected to be at risk this year, said Neeti Sharma, CEO of Teamlease Digital, in an interaction with ET. This figure is more than double the estimated 25,000 affected in 2023–24. Major Indian IT companies, including TCS , Infosys , Tech Mahindra, and Wipro , have begun restructuring their teams, quietly reducing staff as part of broader operational and technological shifts.
