Senator Lidia Thorpe said she will fight for Palestinian rights, speaking of “burn(ing) down Parliament House to make a point”.
The outspoken senator addressed a rally in Melbourne’s CBD with a fiery speech in which she claims she’s not in parliament “to make friends”.
In her speech, she referred to the ceasefire arrangement between Israel and Hamas, the Herald Sun reported.
“So we stand with you every day, and we will fight every day, and we will turn up every day and if I have to burn down Parliament House to make a point … I am not there to make friends,” she said.
“I am there to get justice for our people and I am there to free Palestine from the river to the sea.”
