Alliance Symphony Orchestra to present fall concert

ALLIANCE – Alliance Symphony Orchestra will present its fall concert at 3 p.m. Nov. 2 in Brush Performance Hall in the University of Mount Union’s Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

Eric Benjamin, a Mount Union music faculty member, will conduct the orchestra.

The concert, "Romantic Gems," will showcase three works from the Romantic period.

The program will feature Carl Maria von Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2, with guest soloist Christopher Jones, a clarinetist and University of Mount Union alumnus. Additional pieces are Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s Overture in C and Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5 (“Reformation”).
