Gold prices have touched an all-time high in Chandigarh, with the 24-carat variety selling for Rs 1,26,000 per 10 grams on Sunday. Whereas, the rate for 22-carat gold rose to Rs 1,15,900 per 10 grams.

The prices of gold have steadily increased over the last few days, with the yellow metal (10 grams of 24-carat gold) recording Rs 1,25,500 on Friday.

Jewellers in the Tricity said they were expecting gold to become dearer by Dhanteras.

Rajeev Sahdev, President, Chandigarh Jewellers Association, told The Indian Express that 24-carat gold prices may soar up to Rs 1.30 lakh per 10 grams by Dhanteras. Last Diwali, the rate was Rs 80,000, while it was Rs 55,000 in 2023.
