(NEXSTAR) — It's been more than a month since conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was assassinated while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
Last month, both chambers of Congress approved resolutions to honor Kirk on what would have been his 32nd birthday. That day is coming up this week.
In the Senate, Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., introduced a resolution to make October 14, 2025 — which would have been Kirk's 32nd birthday — a National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk. Scott called Kirk's death "a devastating loss."
"Charlie was a good man – a devout husband, father, and friend," Scott said in his remarks. His life was shaped by his faith and the idea that in America, debate and discussio
