Isaac Vitela passed for 279 yards and five touchdowns and added another 185 yards and two scores on the ground as the Redlands East Valley defeated crosstown rival Redlands 69-28 in a Citrus Belt League game Friday night.

Redlands East Valley (5-2 overall) retained the Smudge Pot and moved to 2-0 in league play for the first time since 2016.

Nathen Lopez made his season debut for the Wildcats and ran for 152 yards and two scores and also caught a touchdown pass. Taamir Mack caught four passes for 145 yards and two scores.

Anthony Fraire led the way for Redlands, passing for 275 yards and two touchdowns. Jaime Moreno caught six passes for 175 yards and a touchdown for the Terriers (2-5, 0-2).
