Denny Hamlin is on the pole for the South Point 400 NASCAR Cup Series race on Oct. 12 at Las Vegas.

Hamlin's lap of 29.213 seconds was about three-hundredths of a second faster than teammate Chase Briscoe.

Among playoff drivers, Ryan Blaney was the slowest in 13th. Playoff drivers took up the top six spots, with Joey Logano in 9th.
