Jayson Tatum has been aggressively rehabbing from a torn Achilles and has hopes to return at some point this season.

The Celtics haven’t put an official timetable on the star forward. And while an Achilles injury normally sidelines someone for about a year, Boston is “cautiously optimistic” about the possibility of Tatum returning to the lineup this season.

“The Celtics haven’t ruled out Jayson Tatum for the season and they’re cautiously optimistic,” ESPN’s Shams Charania said on “The Pat McAfee Show. ” “He has a goal in mind that he wants to play this season, and we’ll see if he gets there.”

Charania noted there are several clearances that Tatum needs from doctors as he gots closer to the end of his rehab.
