MARION, Ohio — A 28-year-old man is dead after a crash in Marion on Saturday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers were called on a report of a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 23 in Marion Township around 10:25 p.m.
OSHP said a Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling northbound on Route 23 when it crossed the median and hit the rear axles of a trailer being pulled by a Freightliner Cascadia semi-trailer.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Jordan Tunnicliff, was pronounced dead at the scene. OSHP said he was not wearing a seatbelt and impairment is suspected to be a factor.
The driver of the Freightliner was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
