A mother has spoken of what she can remember after a hit-and-run driver left her with both legs broken.

Kirsty Pickering also suffered a broken arm, cracked ribs and cuts to her face from the crash in Stockport, Greater Manchester earlier this month.

The 38-year-old dog walker fears being unable after being told by doctors she may not be back walking for up to 12 weeks.

Kirsty was involved in the crash after parking her van outside her parents’ home at around 3.50pm on October 6 in Bredbury, Stockport to collect her son.

She was just getting out of her Fiat Fiorino when she was hit by a mystery black car.

She recalled: ‘All I remember is something black hitting me. The vehicle also hit my van, which is a write-off.’

The mother was taken by ambulance to Stepping Hill hospital.
