EVANSVILLE — The path to Indianapolis is about to be set.

The Indiana High School Athletic Association will announce its football sectional pairings via its annual blind draw on IHSAATV.org tonight at 5 p.m. CT. The first round of the state tournament is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 24, with Class 5A and 6A beginning the following week.

There are currently eight teams from the Evansville area receiving votes in the USA Today Network Indiana media poll. The following are the defending sectional champions locally: Castle (5A), Reitz (4A) and Heritage Hills (now in 4A). Will any area team extend its season to Thanksgiving weekend?
