Two days after a business owner was fatally shot outside his restaurant in Miami, family and loved ones gathered for a memorial on Sunday.

Outside of 40-year-old Dwight C. Wells' restaurant, Winning and Won Turkey Legs, a makeshift memorial was seen with flowers and balloons on the patio.

According to Miami Police, the shooting happened Friday night at the restaurant, located at 5090 NW 17th Ave.

Police said Wells was playing dominoes with two other people when a subject walked up to him and shot him.

The suspect then fled the scene following the shooting.

NBC6 spoke to his mother, Mary Brown.

"What's going through my mind is, 'Why? Why did you shoot my son,'' she said. "We know nothing right now

His family said Wells was a pillar in the community by being a business owner and act
