CLARK COUNTY, Ind. (WAVE) - A Georgia man was arrested near Sellersburg after initiating a police chase with two children in the car.

According to the Indiana State Police, on Saturday, Oct. 11, at around 6:30 p.m., an officer was conducting a stationary traffic patrol on Interstate 65 just north of Sellersburg when he saw a blue Jeep Cherokee approaching.

The officer clocked the Jeep driving southbound at 115 mph in a 70 mph zone, prompting him to initiate a traffic stop. Despite the officer pursuing the Jeep, the driver, 35-year-old Michael Anthony Tapia of Georgia, continued driving south at a high rate of speed.

Eventually, Tapia took the exit to Sellersburg and then ran the stop sign at the bottom of the ramp and continued to drive recklessly around other vehicles before taking the
