Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph (31), left, and safety Brian Branch (32) celebrate a play against Chicago Bears during the first half at Ford Field in Detroit on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024.

After an opening week loss, the Detroit Lions have looked like terrifying juggernauts in a four-game winning streak. The two-time defending NFC North champions will look to maintain this momentum in a tough road matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. It looks like they might have some good news on the defensive injury front, too. That's always a welcome development when you're facing Patrick Mahomes.

All week, starting safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph were not all that active in Lions practice while dealing with respective knee and ankle injuries. Branch participated at the start of the week before eventually being limited, while Joseph was not involved at all.

At the time of publishing, both Branch and Joseph went through their warmups on Sunday night amid "questionable" designations for the Chiefs matchup:

Provided Branch and Joseph look mostly OK in their warmups, it's hard to see the Lions holding them out of the game in Kansas City. We will update this article accordingly once there is more concrete information on their status.

UPDATE: Branch and Joseph are both good to go in Kansas City.

A massive development for the Lions. We'll see how the star defensive backs fare.
