Three teenagers have been charged after a man and his son were allegedly stabbed following an altercation at Melbourne’s busy Southbank.

Emergency services were called to the Yarra Promenade shortly before 2am on Sunday after reports of a brawl.

Police allege a 47-year-old man and his son, 23, were walking with other family members when a group of youths passed and bumped into one of their group.

A short verbal interaction ensued before the teens allegedly “set upon” the pair, who were allegedly physically assaulted and stabbed.

The man and his son were rushed to hospital with suspected non-life threatening injuries.

Victoria Police said the teens were seen running from the scene, but were arrested a short time later by officers.
