The fallout from Penn State’s decision to fire James Franklin on Sunday is only just beginning.

Whenever athletic director Pat Kraft chooses his next leader, ripple effects will carry through the assistant coaching staff, the roster and the entire athletic administration.

But in the short term, Penn State’s recruiting took a big step back. It should come as no surprise, as Franklin is the face of the program and heavily involved on the trail.
