A flood watch was issued for Los Angeles County and other parts of Southern California by the National Weather Service Sunday, and is scheduled to take effect Monday night through Tuesday.

Burn scar areas in Los Angeles are among the areas impacted by the advisory. There is a risk of brief and heavy rainfall that “may trigger hazardous and damaging flooding and debris flows,” according to the NWS.

The flood watch will be in effect from 8 p.m. Monday through 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Urban areas, areas with poor drainage and low-water crossings are also at risk of flooding.

The NWS stated that those in flood-prone areas should monitor forecasts and stay prepared if flooding occurs.
