Al Pacino is said to be grappling with a major regret -- never marrying Diane Keaton, who passed away Saturday at 79.

Daily Mail reports that a friend of the 85-year-old told them they'll know he’ll "forever regret he didn’t make his move when he had the chance." Gallery Launch Gallery Getty

The source added, "For years after he and Diane split, Al used to say, ‘If it’s meant to be, it’s never too late for a do-over.’ But sadly, now it is," adding that he admitted the love of his life was Diane.

The pair first met in 1974 on "The Godfather" set, with Keaton playing his girlfriend. They started dating soon after but split in ’90 when Al reportedly refused to commit to marriage.
