Shaquill Griffin who made his first appearance this season for the Seahawks in Week 2 against Pittsburgh, made his first start this season on Sunday.
The Seahawks knew there was a chance Griffin would get the start. Knowing they would be without cornerback Riq Woolen due to a concussion and likely be without Devon Witherspoon, they elevated Griffin from the practice squad on Saturday.
"I love having Shaq out there because he competes," Macdonald said on Friday. "He attacks all the mental stuff, he knows it, he's got a great attitude, and he competes. We can go into games with that for sure."
Griffin finished Sunday's game with seven tackles.
