ORLANDO, Fla. – A tropical wave located in the Central Atlantic now has a high chance for tropical development.

The disturbance, located southwest of the Cabo Verde islands is producing showers and thunderstorms. No description found

Environmental conditions are expected to become more favorable and a tropical depression appears likely by the middle of the upcoming week.

This system will drift to the northwest and not impact land.

The next named storm of the 2025 season is Lorenzo.

Hurricane season runs trough Nov. 30.
