With lake levels down and drought conditions worsening , our communities need rain. We are looking ahead into the extended forecast for a peak at our next rain chance.

The map above shows rain returning to our area Saturday morning. That is almost a week away, and a lot can change in continental weather patterns in a week. Please take this as an early advisory, not a promise that the drought will end. This cold front won't bring enough rain to do that.

With that in mind, a cold front looks like it will swing through our region next weekend bringing this rain then dropping our temperatures. While it won't be the strongest cold front we've ever seen, it will be more potent than the ones we've watched come through in the last few weeks. We will keep an eye on this front as it develops t
