A teenager has been charged with torture after he allegedly forced another boy into the boot of a car before assaulting him with a hammer and knife west of Brisbane.

Police allege the 17-year-old went to a Moorooka address with another boy at around 6pm on Sunday, where they met with two other boys, aged 14 and 15.

The 17-year-old had allegedly connected with the two teenagers earlier that day on social media.

All four then drove to Redbank Plains, where police allege the 17-year-old threatened the 14-year-old and 15-year-old with a knife.

Both boys fled the car, but the 15-year-old was "caught by the 17-year-old boy and forced into the boot", police allege.
