NEW YORK (PIX11) — President Trump is on his way to Israel on Sunday ahead of the hostages’ release as part of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal.
Hamas is expected to release all 20 living hostages still being held in Gaza. The release is also expected to trigger the freeing of hundreds of prisoners currently held in Israel.
“How will he look?" said Alana Zeitchick, a relative of Israeli hostage David Cunio. She says, although they are relieved he’s being released, she’s also anxious. "What condition he will be in, we don’t really know.”
Cunio is among the 20 hostages expected to be handed over to the Red Cross and taken to a military base to reunite with their families. Those needing extra care will be sent to nearby hospitals for both physical and emotional recovery.
