The Toronto Blue Jays had scored an abundance of runs while taking down the New York Yankees last week. But their bats were quiet in a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners in Sunday’s Game 1 of the American League Championship Series.

A first-inning George Springer homerun started things off with a bang for Toronto, but the team struggled after that. They had just two hits on the night.

A homer from Seattle’s slugging catcher Cal Raleigh, and a pair of RBI singles from Jorge Polanco were enough to give the Mariners the win and a series lead.

More to come.
